Joshua Edwards, 13, requires £1.5m in lifelong care costs after he was struck down by a spinal bleed in December 2006.
The Noadswood School pupil is one of 28 people in the world to have suffered a Spontaneous Spinal Epidural Haematoma.
Southampton-based Trant Construction, a specialist construction contractor directly employing 550 people, organised the golfing event for 32 clients and colleagues.

It took place at Stoneham Golf Course, Bassett, Southampton, over 18 holes, followed by a prize-giving ceremony and supper.

One of Trant’s employees, machine operator Colin Edwards, who works at Esso’s Fawley oil refinery, is Joshua’s father.

Carol Edwards, Joshua’s grandmother, said: “We cannot thank the Trant staff enough for what they have done in raising so much money for Joshua.”
